MORIGAMI Tohkaku, born in Fukuoka, Japan, is a writer, philosopher, Founder of Yuima-kai. He attended a Christian missionary school, Seinan Gakuin, throughout his junior and senior years in Japan where he became acquainted with the Bible and Western thought. Post high school graduation he led a life of spiritual exploration to broaden his knowledge and view the world widely. Morigami attended the faculty of Buddhism, Rissho University as a scholarship student to study Indian Buddhism. He wrote a graduation thesis "The study of Nagarjuna" discussing to elucidate "異蘊 (Ion), the transformed aggregates of Skandhas , or soul," in 空観 (Kugan : thought of emptiness). fter graduating university in 1979 he has held several positions including a writer for an environmental issues-focused newspaper company.He has taught more than 30,000 people over the past 50 years, preaching the truths taught by Sakyamuni Buddha in a form that is relevant to today. Changed his name to MORIGAMI Tohkaku in 2024.
